Nikola Jokic made NBA history during the Nuggets-Wizards game.

On Sunday evening, the Denver Nuggets will play the Washington Wizards in Washington, D.C.   

During the game, two-time MVP Nikola Jokic made NBA history by passing Spud Webb (4,342) for 98th on the all-time assists list.  

Following Webb, the next player Jokic will pass to is Alex English (4,351). In 42 games

 Jokic averaged 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, 9.1 assists, and 1.1 steals, while shooting 58.3% from the field and 35.0% from three-point range. 

The Nuggets are the Western Conference's third seed, with a 29-14 record in their first 43 games. 

They are 6-4 in their previous ten games, most recently defeating Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics 102-100 (in Massachusetts).  

Jokic finished with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists in 38 minutes of action, hitting 14/22 from the field and 2/4 from three. 

Following Sunday's game against the Wizards, the Nuggets will travel to Indiana to face the Pacers on Tuesday.

 Jokic was the 41st choice in the 2014 NBA Draft and is now in his ninth season (all with Denver). 

He is coming off a season in which he guided the organization to the Western Conference's top seed and the 2023 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.
